Shiraz Flush Ceiling Light

A single block of cut crystal held under a small brass ceiling plate, close enough to the ceiling to leave a hallway clear and bright enough to matter in one.

The shade is thick clear glass, cut into deep facets on every side, so a single lamp inside is broken up and scattered instead of glaring straight down. The whole fitting is smaller than a dinner plate, which is why it suits a hallway, a landing or a small cloakroom where a pendant would be in the way. The plate and the collar are brass, stepped rather than domed, and the warmth of the metal takes the chill off the crystal.

Where it works: a hallway or landing ceiling, the top of a staircase, or any low ceiling room that needs a little sparkle rather than a plain disc.

It is rated for dry rooms only, so it is not a bathroom fitting whatever the size suggests. No lamp is supplied, and a clear lamp will sparkle where a frosted one will not.
