Shiraz Pendant Light

A small ball of thick faceted glass on a slim brass stem, cut so the lamp inside breaks into dozens of bright points instead of one glare.

The shade is heavy clear glass, hand cut into shallow facets all round, and it behaves like a lens rather than a diffuser. A single lamp sits inside, and every face of the glass picks it up and throws it somewhere different, which is why a small fitting can hold its own next to a bed. The stem and the cap are brushed brass, warm against the cold sparkle of the glass. It hangs on an adjustable suspension that can be shortened, so it can sit low over a bedside table or higher in a corner.

Where it works: hung in pairs at bedside height either side of a bed, in a bedroom corner, or as a small accent light in a living room.

The lamp is not supplied. A lamp with a visible filament will sparkle through the cut glass, and a frosted one will calm it down, so pick according to how much glitter you want beside a bed.
