A pressed steel dome in matt black, lined in brass so the light picks up warmth on the way out. The workshop shape that suits a kitchen island without turning it into a workshop.

The shade is a deep hemisphere, spun in metal and powder coated matt black on the outside. Inside it is finished in brass, which matters more than it sounds: a plain white lining throws a flat cold light, while the brass warms everything that falls through it and softens the edge of the pool on the worktop. A brass collar sits at the top where the shade meets the flex, and the braided cable can be shortened at the ceiling rose. Light goes straight down, so it belongs over a surface you work at.

Where it works: hung in a row over a kitchen island, above a dining table, or singly over a breakfast bar.

No bulb in the box. A clear filament lamp looks right under a brass lining, and because the shade is open at the bottom you will see the lamp from a seated position, so choose one you like the look of.

Returns 14 days from delivery, no reason required. If it arrives damaged we cover the return — transit damage is our problem.
