Five opal glass globes on curved chrome arms, set on a pole that adjusts the drop to suit the room.

The arms sweep up and out from a shallow black hub and turn down at the tips, so each globe sits slightly below the arm and the light falls into the room rather than at the ceiling. Opal glass means no visible filament and no glare: five even spheres of light instead of five bright points. The pole is rigid and adjustable, which matters on a fitting this wide, because the drop range is the difference between a low hallway ceiling and a table hung properly.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a living room, or in a large bedroom where a wide fitting balances the space.

Bulbs are not included and five are needed. Opal glass hides the lamp, so plain warm white ones are fine and the cheaper choice here is also the right one.
