Four black rods curving away from a small ceiling plate, each ending in a bare lamp holder, so the fitting draws a loose sputnik pattern across the ceiling.

The arms are round section steel, powder coated matt black, and they are bent rather than straight, which softens what would otherwise be a hard geometric shape. They cross each other close to the canopy and then run out at different lengths, so no two lamps sit at the same height and the fitting has a bit of movement in it. There are no shades, so the choice of lamp is the choice of look: amber filament for warmth, opal for something quieter. It sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging into the room.

Where it works: a living room, a hallway, or a dining room with a ceiling too low for anything hanging.
