Bojnord Pendant Light

An open black frame, tapered from a narrow top to a wider base, with four brass lamp holders standing inside it and nothing to hide the bulbs.

There is no glass and no shade here, just square section steel welded into a splayed lantern shape and finished matt black. The four lamp holders are brass, set on a small cross plate inside the frame, so the warm metal is the only colour against the black. Because every side is open the fitting takes up almost no visual space, which is why it works in pairs or threes above an island where a solid shade would block the sightline. The rod comes in sections so the angle and drop adjust to the room.

Where it works: above a kitchen island, over a dining table, or in a hallway with the height to carry a rod drop.

Bulbs are not included and they are on show inside the frame. Amber filament lamps give the look in the photograph; opal lamps give a softer one.
