Four hundred ice white lamps hung as icicle drops in varied lengths, run along white cable with a mains lead and a memory-chip controller.

The drops fall in varied lengths, which is what keeps the run from reading as an even fringe along a fence and gives it a tapered icicle effect instead. The lamps are ice white, a cool tone that stays crisp at night against brick and render instead of drifting yellow. Four hundred lamps run along the full length of white cable, dense enough to hold its line from across a garden. A lead wire runs from the plug to the first icicle, and a multi-function controller with a memory chip lets you choose from several lighting patterns. The LED lamps are fixed in place and none of them is individually replaceable.

Where it works: outdoors along a fence, a gutter line, a porch edge, or across a garden wall.

The icicle drops vary in length by design and the whole set runs from a memory-chip controller with several lighting patterns, suited to permanent outdoor decoration.
