Cool white icicle strands in mixed drop lengths, run along a fence line or a gutter to outline the edge of a house after dark.

The set hangs as one horizontal run with vertical drops falling from it at varying lengths, so the line breaks up rather than reading as a straight rope of light. 600 lamps sit on 14.28m of white cable, which is close to invisible against white boards and painted render in daylight. The lamps are ice white, a cool tone that reads cleanly at night against brick and timber rather than going yellow. An 8m lead wire runs from the plug to the first icicle, which is usually the difference between reaching a socket and not, and the controller holds its last function on a memory chip so it returns the same way after a power cut.

Where it works: outdoors along a fence, a gutter line, a porch edge, or across the front of a garden shed or garage.
