Eight clear glass globes on brass arms that leave a central column at different angles, held close to the ceiling on a short stem.

This is a full ceiling fitting, not a shade. A flat brass canopy sits against the ceiling, a short square column drops from it, and eight brass arms push out from that column at different angles and heights so nothing lines up flat. Each arm ends in a clear glass globe with the lamp visible inside, which makes the light bright and glassy rather than diffused, and the globes pick up reflections off one another. It covers a lot of ceiling for a fitting that only drops a short distance, and that is the point of it: the spread of a chandelier without the drop of one.

Where it works: a dining room, a living room, or a bedroom with a ceiling too low for a hanging chandelier.

Bulbs are not included: you need eight lamps. Lamps run hot and sit in full view inside clear glass, so LED lamps are the sensible choice here.
