Behbahan Semi Flush Ceiling Light

Eight slim brass rods radiate from a central hub on a short adjustable drop, each one ending in a plain cylindrical holder with the lamp left exposed.

The rods leave the hub on several planes rather than in one flat ring, so the fitting keeps some depth even sitting tight to the ceiling. There are no shades at all and that is deliberate: the lamps are the visible part and they set the character of the whole thing. The photograph shows opal globe lamps, which give a soft even glow and hide the filament; clear globes look sharper and throw more contrast. Everything is metal in a warm brass, including the deep cylindrical canopy, and the drop rod adjusts so the fitting can be pulled up close to a low ceiling.

Where it works: a dining room, a living room, or a kitchen with a low ceiling where a hanging fitting would be in the way.
