Isfahan Table Lamp

A heavy grey ceramic body with a mottled, chalky surface, under a wide natural linen drum shade that keeps the light soft and low.

The body is thrown as a rounded jar with a narrow neck, then glazed in a broken grey that pools darker in the hollows and dries out pale on the high points, so it reads as weathered stone rather than a painted pot. The shade is a straight sided drum in a natural linen weave, wide enough to cover the body and spread the light sideways rather than spotlight the table. It is compact enough for a bedside table and weighted enough at the base not to be knocked over easily.

Where it works: on a bedside table, on a hallway console, or in pairs on a living room sideboard.
