Sabzevar Table Lamp

A clear glass base topped with a white cotton drum shade, sold as one piece so there is nothing left to choose or match up.

The base is blown clear glass in a bottle shape, wide at the shoulder and drawn in at the neck, with a gold tone lamp holder above it and the cable visible inside the glass. The shade is snow white cotton over an iron frame, gently tapered and sized to sit in proportion on the base, spreading the light rather than funnelling it. White cotton passes the warmest part of the light through and holds the rest, so the glow is soft at the edges and bright straight down onto whatever is underneath.

Where it works: a bedroom chest or bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room sideboard.

White cotton is the version to choose if the lamp needs to do real work in the room, since it passes far more light than a coloured shade.
