Semnan Table Lamp

A clear glass base with a taupe cotton drum shade, sold as one piece, warm enough to sit against oak or linen without fighting it.

The base is blown clear glass in a bottle shape, wide at the shoulder and drawn in at the neck, with a gold tone lamp holder and the cable left visible inside the glass. The shade is taupe cotton over an iron frame, gently tapered and sized to suit the base without overwhelming it. A coloured shade absorbs more than a white one, so the light through the fabric comes out warmer and lower, with most of the output going straight down. That makes it a lamp for atmosphere rather than for reading by.

Where it works: a bedroom chest or bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room sideboard alongside wood and linen.
