Ramsar Table Lamp

A fluted smoked glass teardrop base under a snow white cotton drum shade, sold together as one lamp.

The base is pressed glass in a soft smoke grey with a faint mauve cast, pulled into a teardrop and ribbed with vertical flutes that run its full height and hide the flex inside. Above it is a snow white cotton shade on an iron frame, gently tapered, sized to balance the base. White cotton lets far more light through than a dark shade, so this is the version to buy if the lamp has to be useful as well as decorative, and the pale shade is also what makes the grey tint of the glass read properly.

Where it works: a bedside table where you read, a hallway console, or a reading corner.

White cotton passes the most light of the shade options here, useful if this needs to double as a reading lamp.
