Amol Table Lamp

A small speckled stoneware lamp in a near black ceramic glaze, with a tapered grey shade, sized for a bedside table or a shelf.

The base is stoneware rather than a painted finish, thrown as a short cylinder with a stepped shoulder and a narrow neck, and glazed in a dark speckled brown that reads near black until light falls across it. That textured ceramic surface is the whole appeal at this size, because it gives a small lamp something to look at. The shade is a tapered polyester drum in dark grey, which cuts the light down to a warm pool rather than lighting a room, and the base glows against a pale wall when the lamp is on.

Where it works: a bedside table, a hallway console, or a side table in a reading corner where a small warm light is enough.
