Bandar Pendant Light

A tapered brass cone on a black fabric cable, closed at the bottom by a faceted crystal that carries all the light.

The shorter of the two drops, and the proportion changes the fitting: the cone still tapers to a spike but reads as a hanging jewel rather than a long line. Brass is burnished so it is warm rather than mirror bright, and it will darken slowly with handling. At the tip a hand cut K9 crystal with hexagonal and pentagonal facets takes the lamp and scatters it into small hard points of light, which is why a cluster of these over an island sparkles rather than glows. The crystal unclips for cleaning and the brass takes nothing wetter than a dry cloth.

Where it works: over a kitchen island in a row, above a dining table, or one either side of a bed at bedside height.
