Kermanshah Wall Light

A dark bronze cone on a slack cable, dropped from a round wall plate and lit only at the faceted crystal tip.

The fitting is a hanging drop rather than a rigid arm: a plain disc backplate on the wall, a black cable looping down, and a long tapered cone at the end of it. In this finish the metal reads black at any normal distance, so what you see lit is the crystal alone, glowing at the bottom of a dark line. That makes it a quiet fitting in daylight and a sharp one at night. The crystal is hand cut with hexagonal and pentagonal facets, comes off separately for cleaning, and the metal above it should be wiped dry rather than washed.

Where it works: at bedside height beside a bed in pairs, or in a bedroom or hallway where a dark drop suits a pale wall.
