Malayer Table Lamp

A small artichoke of overlapping cream petals with a bare lamp standing proud of it, so the bulb you choose finishes the design.

The base is moulded as an artichoke, layer on layer of overlapping petals with soft rolled edges, in a chalky off white with a matt, unglazed surface. It is genuinely compact, so it belongs on a shelf or a stack of books rather than commanding a table. There is no shade, and the exposed globe lamp visible in the photograph is not supplied, which matters more here than on most lamps because that lamp is the top half of the object. The supplier's description calls the base ceramic while its own materials field says steel, and the photograph reads as ceramic.

Where it works: on a bedside table, on a hallway console, or on a living room shelf where a small warm light is enough.
