Khorramabad Table Lamp

A reactive glazed stoneware base under a taupe drum shade, sold as one lamp, with a glaze that breaks differently on every piece.

The base is a straight sided stoneware cylinder with a rounded shoulder, glazed so that a greige band at the top runs down into the cream body in fine vertical streaks. Kiln reactions do not repeat, so the break sits in a different place on every one. Above it is a taupe shade, gently tapered, sized to balance the base. A taupe fabric holds back more light than a white one, so what you get is a warm low pool rather than a bright wash, and the textured ceramic below picks up enough of it to read.

Where it works: a bedside table, a hallway console, or a side table in a reading corner.

The supplier copy cannot decide whether the shade is white or taupe. The photograph and the title both say taupe, and that is what we will confirm before it ships.
