Behbahan Table Lamp

A wide white linen drum carried inside a slim metal bracket rather than sat on a harp, on a plain bronze column and a weighted disc base.

The frame is the design: two square section metal brackets rise either side of the shade and clip over its top edge, so the drum hangs within a frame instead of resting on a fitting. That leaves the shade open top and bottom, sending light straight up the wall and straight down onto the surface with a soft wash through the linen in between. The metalwork is a brushed bronze effect plating, dark and warm rather than orange, and it stays quiet against a neutral or monochrome room. It is heavy for its size, which is what keeps the shade stable.

Where it works: on a living room sideboard, in a home office, or beside a chair in a reading corner where the downward light earns its place.

Open at both ends, so the lamp is visible from above and below. An opal or frosted bulb will look better here than a clear filament one.
