Dezful Wall Light

A clear glass drum mounted straight onto the wall with a lit alabaster disc inside it, so the glow sits behind glass rather than on it.

Seen head on the fitting is two circles: an outer ring of clear glass catching a hard highlight, and inside it a pale alabaster disc that carries all the light. The black mount behind is small and disappears against the shade, so what reads from across a room is a glowing stone circle held inside a glass one. Because the alabaster gives a diffused light rather than transmitting it there is no visible lamp and no hot spot, which makes this an easy fitting to sit near a bed. The glass is clear and open, so it will collect dust and wants an occasional wipe.

Where it works: at bedside height beside a bed, in a bedroom, or in a living room alcove where a small round wall light suits the space.
