A small clear glass drum on a round black base with a lit alabaster disc inside, low enough to sit under a shelf or beside a bed.

The proportions are deliberately squat: a short black metal base, a glowing alabaster puck resting on it, and a clear glass drum dropped over the top like a cloche. Light leaves the stone as a soft diffused glow and then picks up a bright rim where it meets the glass, so the lamp reads as two tones from any angle. There is no visible lamp and no shade to line up, which makes it an easy object to place. It is compact, so treat it as a pool of light on a surface rather than something that will light a room.

Where it works: on a bedside table, on a hallway console, or on a home office desk as a low background light.
