Behbahan Wall Light

A small faceted crystal globe on a long slim brass stem that runs well above and below the backplate, drawing a vertical line up the wall.

The proportion is what you are buying. A plain round brass plate sits at the middle of a slender stem that continues down to a point and up to a single crystal globe, so the fitting occupies a tall narrow strip of wall rather than a small circle. The globe is solid crystal glass, ground and polished by hand with hexagonal and pentagonal facets, and it is open at the top so light escapes upward as well as through the cut faces. Lit, it throws a sparkle of small bright points onto the wall behind. Burnished brass throughout, warm rather than bright.

Where it works: at bedside height beside a bed, along a hallway, or in a living room where a tall narrow fitting suits the wall better than a wide one.
