Bushehr Wall Light

A single hand cut crystal globe on a plain round brass plate, shallow enough to mount on a wall or flat to a ceiling.

There is no arm and no stem. The crystal sits directly on a burnished brass disc, so the whole fitting stands only as far off the surface as the globe is deep. That is what lets it double as a low ceiling light in a hallway or a landing where a hanging fitting would be in the way. The globe is solid crystal glass cut with hexagonal and pentagonal facets, ground and polished by hand and lacquered brass at the base, and lit it throws small hard points of light across the surface it is mounted on. It comes off for cleaning.

Where it works: at bedside height beside a bed, along a hallway, or on a low ceiling on a landing where a pendant would be in the way.
