Two faceted hand cut crystal globes on a dark bronze plate and cross bar, so the crystal is the only bright thing on the wall.

Same geometry as the brass version, opposite effect. The round backplate and the bar across it are finished in a burnished bronze that reads black at any normal distance, and against that the crystal looks brighter than it does on warm metal. Each globe is solid glass, cut by hand into hexagonal and pentagonal facets and left open at the top so a little light washes upward. Lit at night the fitting almost vanishes and the two globes float. In daylight it is a pair of dark discs and stems, which is a very different object from the brass one.

Where it works: over a bed at bedside height, in a bedroom against a pale wall, or in a hallway where dark metalwork is already the theme. It suits a living room equally well.
