Birjand Pendant Light

A deep dome of open woven bamboo on a plain white cable, wide enough to hold a dining table on its own without a second fitting.

Split bamboo is woven in a diagonal lattice over a deep rounded former, so the shade keeps a dome profile with no visible frame and the weave itself does the structural work. The gaps in the lattice are the design: light passes straight down onto a table and also breaks sideways through the cane, throwing a pattern across the ceiling and the nearest wall. Raw bamboo warms the light on the way through, so a neutral lamp reads softer than it would under a solid shade. It is wide enough to light a table alone, without a second fitting alongside it. The cable is white and adjustable at installation.

Where it works: over a dining table, in a living room, or above a kitchen island where a wide shade can hang low.

An open weave hides nothing, so pick a lamp you are happy to see: a warm white globe or a filament LED sits better here than a bare stick.
