A wide brass frame carrying dozens of upright clear crystal prisms in staggered rows, hung on a chain.

Built as a ring rather than a shade, this is a brass frame set with faceted rectangular crystal bars standing on end at two heights, so the top edge breaks into a crown and the bottom edge stays level. The lamps sit within the ring and light the prisms from behind, which makes the glass glow along its whole length and throws colour where the cut faces catch. Brass gives the crystal a warm cast that the bronze version does not. It hangs from a chain, so the drop is adjusted by taking links out at installation.

Where it works: over a large dining room table, or in a living room where a wide drum has the width and the height to sit properly.
