The globe is clear glass worked with a repeating faceted texture that catches and breaks up the light from the lamp inside, giving it more sparkle than a plain smooth globe would have. A brass canopy and fitting finish the piece in a warm tone rather than cold, and its compact size means it can sit close to the ceiling without dominating a hallway or an archway. It reads as a small decorative moment rather than a main light source.
