A hand blown clear glass teardrop base with a warm brass lamp holder, waiting for a shade of your own choosing.

The glass is blown rather than moulded, so the wall thickness shifts a little from shoulder to foot and the surface carries the faint ripples and seams that come with the process. It reads as a wide, softly tapered teardrop, weighted low enough to sit steady on a console, and clear enough that it more or less disappears against a pale wall while a lit bulb floats inside it. The lamp holder and its collar are brass, which warms the whole thing up against all that colourless glass, and the flex carries an in-line on off switch so you are not reaching behind furniture every night.

Where it works: on a living room sideboard or a hallway console table, where a clear base keeps an already busy surface visually quiet.
