Ferdows Table Lamp

A hammered clear glass teardrop base under a snow white cotton drum shade, sold as one lamp with nothing left to match.

The base is blown glass, wide at the foot and drawn in at the neck, hammered so the surface dimples and the light coming through it scatters rather than running clean. The shade is snow white cotton on an iron frame, slightly tapered, and white is the version to take if the lamp has to be useful: it passes far more light than the taupe, so this works beside a bed you read in rather than only as something to look at. The holder and collar are a gold tone that warms the clear glass below.
