Torbat Table Lamp

A hammered clear glass teardrop base with a taupe cotton drum shade, sold together, so the proportions are already settled.

The base is blown glass, full at the bottom and drawn in at the neck, with a dimpled hammered surface that breaks up the reflections and hides the flex inside. Above it sits a cotton shade on an iron frame in a warm taupe, gently tapered, which is wide enough to balance the glass below without overhanging it. Taupe fabric holds back more light than white, so the output is warm and low and mostly downward, and the clear glass beneath picks up just enough to catch the eye.

Where it works: a bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room sideboard next to oak and linen.
