Shirvan Wall Light

Three thick blocks of textured crystal stacked into a column and held by brass straps, lit from behind so the glass carries the light.

Each block is a solid faceted slab of crystal with a chipped and rippled face, so it refracts rather than transmits and the surface breaks light into small irregular highlights. Three of them stack vertically, separated and clamped by flat brass straps, with a plain brass spine behind carrying the whole thing off the wall. It reads as a column form rather than a lamp, which is why it suits a narrow strip of wall beside a door or a mirror. Lit, the texture is the point: the light never comes out evenly, it comes out in flecks.

Where it works: on a narrow hallway wall, beside a bedroom mirror, or in a living room where a tall vertical fitting balances a doorway.
