Cast in thickened steel and finished in a flat, textured brown that reads more like aged stone than polished metal, this pendant tapers in a clean cone shape from a wide top to a narrow neck. The open base lets the lamp cast its light straight down and out across the sides, so it works as a single, warm point of light rather than a broad wash. It hangs from a chain rather than a flex, and the supplier does not state a drop length, so check your ceiling height before ordering.

Where it works: a bedroom or hallway, hung in pairs over a bedside table, or above a small table in a dining room for a warm, contained pool of light.
