Ardestan Wall Light

A plain matt black cylinder on a round backplate, mounted on a knuckle so the head swings and the beam can be aimed onto a page, a picture or a worktop.

This is a directional fitting with nothing decorative about it. The cylinder is a single turned tube with a recessed aperture at the open end, so the lamp sits back inside and you are not looking straight at it from across the room. The knuckle behind the head is the whole point: the supplier confirms the light rotates, and the photograph shows enough travel to take the beam from straight down to nearly horizontal. The plate is a shallow round disc, small enough to sit beside a bed or a chair without dominating the wall.

Where it works: a reading corner beside a chair, over a desk in a home office, or in a hallway aimed at a picture.
