Tabriz Picture Light

A flat brushed brass bar on a small round wall plate, with the LED hidden along its lower edge so the light lands on the picture and not in your eyes.

Most picture lights are a tube on an arm. This one is a straight linear bar, rectangular in section, cantilevered off a small disc so it floats clear of the wall. The LED sits in a channel along the underside, which is why the source is never visible from a normal viewing position and why the wash down the artwork is even rather than scalloped. The brass is brushed and will develop a patina over time, which the supplier treats as a feature rather than a fault. The head tilts, so the beam can be squared up to whatever is hanging below it.

Where it works: above a painting or a print in a living room, along a hallway gallery wall, or over a pinboard in a home office.
