Base and shade are both cast in a glossy amber-caramel glaze, the kind of colour that catches sunlight and throws warm reflections across a desk. The half-cylinder shade sits on a slim brass arm bolted to an arched, block-like base, a traditional banker's lamp shape reworked in a bold colour rather than the usual green or brass glass. The shade directs light down and along the desk surface rather than spreading it around the room, which is what makes this a task lamp rather than an ambient one.
