A brass circle hung on black fabric cords, carrying ten clear tubes that alternate pointing up and pointing down around the ring.

The ring is the structure and everything else hangs off it. Each shade is a plain clear tube with a band of etched texture around the middle, so the lamp inside is visible top and bottom but broken up in the middle where the etching sits. Alternating the tubes up and down is what gives this fitting its rhythm: half the light goes to the ceiling and half comes down to the table, which is why it lights a dining room without needing anything else in the room. The suspension is black cord rather than chain, so the drop looks light against the brass and can be shortened at installation.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a stairwell where the ring can be read from below, or in a large living room with height to spare.
