Torbat Semi Flush Ceiling Light

An ellipse of mirrored glass with a deliberately irregular hammered surface, held just below the ceiling on a short black stem.

The glass is silvered so it behaves like a mirror when the light is off, picking up the room around it in distorted pieces across every dent and swell. That irregularity is the whole design and it is formed on purpose, not a fault. Lit, the shade warms and the reflections soften while light leaves through the open underside. It hangs from a short stem under a black metal canopy, so it reads as a chrome object floating just below the ceiling rather than as a fitting bolted to it.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a hallway, or in a living room where a mirrored surface has something to reflect.

Be clear about the surface before you order: it is meant to look beaten and uneven, and every piece is slightly different. If you want a smooth mirror, this is not it.
