A long shallow arch in polished nickel carrying a wide white fabric drum out over the floor from a heavy round base.

The stem leaves a heavy round nickel base almost vertically, then bends through a slow arc so the shade ends up well forward of the foot. That is the practical point of an arched lamp: the base tucks behind a sofa or a chair while the light lands where someone is sitting. The shade is a white faux silk drum with a soft sheen, open top and bottom, so it drops a wide pool downward and puts a matching wash on the ceiling. The nickel is bright and polished rather than brushed, so it reads as a formal piece rather than a casual one. The weight sits low in the base, which keeps the long reach of the arch stable.
