Eqlid Table Lamp

A clear ribbed glass capsule on a polished chrome disc, the plainest and most useful version of this lamp.

With no tint in the glass there is nothing between you and the bulb, so this version lives or dies on the lamp you put in it. The ribs run vertically from shoulder to base and act like a row of small lenses, stretching a filament into a column of bright lines and throwing a fine striped pattern onto the wall behind. The top is open, which lets heat out and light up. The base is a low chrome disc, polished bright, cool against the colourless glass, and the whole thing is small enough to sit on a desk without taking the surface over.

Where it works: on a home office desk, a hallway shelf, or a bedroom side table where a clear lamp keeps the surface visually light.

Clear glass means the bulb is the decoration. A clear filament lamp is the right call here, and a plain frosted LED is the wrong one.
