This is the coldest of the family and the most deliberate. Chrome under sage green keeps everything in the grey to green range, so the lamp reads as a piece of glassware on a metal foot rather than as a warm decorative object, and it sits comfortably in a room with steel, marble or a lot of white. The shade is pressed in fine vertical ribs and open at the top, which puts the bulb on show and splits its light into a row of bright lines. The base is a low chrome disc with the cable running out of one side and a switch on it.

Where it works: on a home office desk, a hallway shelf, or a bedroom side table in a scheme that leans cool rather than warm.
