The glass is the product. It is pressed into fine vertical ribs from the rounded shoulder to the base and tinted a soft rose that stays pale rather than going sweet, and because the top is open the shade reads as a piece of glassware with a bulb in it rather than as a lampshade. Lit, the ribs split the filament into a column of bright vertical lines and throw a faint pink cast onto the wall behind. The base is a low chrome disc, polished bright, which is deliberately cool against the warm glass and keeps the whole thing looking like an object rather than furniture.

Where it works: on a bedside table, a home office desk, or a bedroom shelf, wherever a small point of colour is wanted.

A clear filament bulb suits it and a frosted one wastes it. The glass is transparent, so whatever bulb you fit is part of the design.
