Chrome under smoked glass is the sharpest pairing in this family: a mirror bright disc holding up a shade that deliberately absorbs light. The glass is tinted a neutral grey with no warmth in it and pressed into fine vertical ribs, so the lit bulb reads as a soft amber core behind a grey screen rather than as a bare filament. The base is a low chrome plated disc that reflects the surface it stands on, which makes the lamp look like it is floating slightly. A cable runs from one side with an in-line switch and a UK plug on the end.

Where it works: on a home office desk, a hallway shelf, or a living room side table where a grey lamp disappears into the scheme.
