Neyriz Pendant Light

A wide dome shade in cast resin, finished with a pitted cream surface that reads like weathered stone, hung on a plain black flex and cap.

The shade is a deep dome, wide enough at the mouth to spread light over a good stretch of worktop while the depth keeps the lamp itself out of sight from a standing height. The outer face is cast with an irregular pitted texture and left matt in a soft cream, which is where the stone effect comes from; the inside is smooth and pale, so it bounces a warm light down rather than swallowing it. Cast resin means the weight stays low for the size, which matters on a plasterboard ceiling.

Where it works: over a kitchen island in a pair, above a dining table on its own, or in a hallway where a soft natural colour suits the wall.

Bulb not included. A warm white LED is the sensible fit; the pale inner face does most of the work of spreading it.
