The shade is cast resin over a metal frame, its surface left slightly uneven and matte rather than polished, in keeping with a deliberately imperfect, handmade look. Two irregular openings are cut out of the rounded form, so light escapes as soft pools rather than an even wash, changing the shadows it throws depending on where you stand.
