A wide, squat ceramic bowl in a chalky distressed white, under a broad natural linen drum. Heavy, handmade looking, and quiet with it.

The base is a low thrown bowl, wider than it is tall, finished in a distressed antique white that has been rubbed through in places so darker clay shows at the edges and across the belly. No two come out identical, which is the point of the finish rather than a fault in it. The shade is a wide natural linen drum, which balances the width of the base and spreads light rather than pooling it on the surface. It is a solid, heavy base, so it sits securely on a bedside table. An in-line switch sits on the cable.

Where it works: a bedside table with the depth to take a wide shade, a hallway console, or a living room sideboard in a rustic or coastal room.
