A sculptural ceramic lamp base in pale blue, tiered from two stacked rounded volumes with a scalloped collar between them.

The shape is the product. A wide rounded bowl at the foot draws into a pinched waist, then flares out again into a scalloped collar at the top, so the profile changes completely depending on where you stand. Every surface is fluted in soft vertical ribs, and the glaze is a pale cornflower blue with a high gloss that pools slightly darker in the hollows and catches a highlight along every rib. That gloss is what stops it reading as a craft piece: it is glazed stoneware behaving like porcelain. A cable with an in-line on off switch runs from the back. The overall form is tiered, two stacked volumes rather than a single simple column.

Where it works: on a living room console or sideboard, or a bedroom chest, in a room that needs one piece of colour rather than another neutral.
