Fuman Wall Light

A long slim brass stem rising from a small round wall plate to a short cylinder cup, open at the bottom so the light falls back down the column.

Almost all of this fitting is stem. A single brass rod runs the full height off a plain round plate, held clear of the wall by one small bracket, and at the top it finishes in a short turned cylinder open at the underside. That cup is the only place light escapes, so it works as a narrow downlight and the beam falls straight down the column, grazing the brass and picking up the brushed grain on the way. It is a deliberately quiet fitting: a vertical line on a wall that happens to glow at one end, rather than something that lights a room.

Where it works: as bedside lights either side of a bed, along a hallway in a run, or on a landing where a tall vertical line suits the wall.
