Two bursts of slim brass rods radiating up and down from a central band, each with a candle lamp set inside the spray rather than at the tips.

The rods are the design. Dozens of thin brass lengths splay out from a plain brass collar at the centre, one spray rising and one falling, cut to slightly different lengths so the outline stays soft rather than geometric. A single candle lamp sits inside each burst, which is what keeps this a starburst and not a bare bulb fitting: the light is filtered through the rods on its way out and throws a scatter of fine shadows onto the wall behind. The backplate is a plain round disc, small enough to disappear behind the collar.

Where it works: flanking a dining room mirror, along a hallway, or in a living room alcove where the shadow pattern can be seen on the wall behind.
