Kalaleh Pendant Light

A wide flat brass dish hung face up on a black cord, with the lamps mounted beneath it so all the light bounces off the disc before it reaches the room.

This is a reflector, not a shade. The disc is a single spun brass plate, brushed rather than mirrored, hung horizontally from a short stem so its underside faces down into the room. The lamps sit below it on a small central hub, pointing outward, which means nothing is aimed straight down at a table and everything arrives as bounced light off the warm brass face. That is what gives the fitting its colour: the brass tints the reflection and the room reads warmer than the lamp alone would suggest.

Where it works: over a dining table, above a kitchen island, or in a living room where a wide low disc suits the ceiling better than a tall shade.
